Harring Doors is committed to offering sound control and reduction options for today’s marketplace. Through design and testing, Harring Doors has achieved products that meet a wide range of STC (Sound Transmission Class) Ratings.
There are two methods used to test the acoustical properties of a door. The first method is to test the door as a “fixed” panel. The door is installed in the frame and the door is completely sealed in place to eliminate any sound transfer that could occur around the perimeter of the door. This is helpful to determine the STC Rating of the door itself, but is unrealistic in a true operable application. The second method is to test the door “operable” with hinges, latching hardware and perimeter gasketing. This gives a true STC Rating of the opening.
Our commitment to providing STC Rated products is on-going. Details of our current offerings can be found here and please contact us if any additional information if required.
